The East Grinstead Model Engineering Society is a completely voluntary organisation that was formed in 1949 by a group of friends all interested in modeling.
Although the Society's income relies on running it's 5" gauge railway we are also interested in all aspects of modeling and engineering. Some of the members build and fly model aircraft, build traction engines, stationary engines and boats. There is also a keen interest in smaller gauge railways.
The other interest the club has, is for engineering whether large or small, we fabricate everything we can in house.
At the clubhouse we have a well equipped workshop with lathes, milling and drilling machines which can be used by members for building their own models, and for maintenance to the railway.

The Society also arranges visits out to other club tracks and other places of interest.

The Club meets on a Wednesday evening and is a fun, and enjoyable place with lots of projects on the go and a welcoming cup of tea.

If you are interested in joining the Society then please contact the Secretary via the contact us page.
